University of Ljubljana Press has a long tradition of publishing scientific and professional publications, university textbooks and various language manuals. Since 2019, the publishing activities of all 26 faculties and academies of the University of Ljubljana have been combined into one organisational unit called University of Ljubljana Press , whose activities support the fundamental mission of the University – the development and dissemination of knowledge that is the subject of cognitive processes and the prmotion of critical and creative thinking. Measured by the number of publications (over 200 per year), University of Ljubljana Press is one of the largest publishers of academic literature in Central Europe and has for some time been the largest in Slovenia.
In the spirit of open science, we have published web portal University of Ljubljana E-books. The portal is based on an open source system (Open Monograph Press), book titles are freely available in PDF format, some titles are also available in an ePub format that allows reading on phones and tablets.
