Synopsis

Anatol I. von Spakovsky belongs to the first generation of students and doctoral students of philosophy at the Department of Philosophy from the University of Ljubljana Faculty of Arts (the then Kingdom University/ Ljubljana University of the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes – SCS). He was the sixth doctoral student under Prof. France Veber, the then holder of the Chair of Philosophy.

Drawing from the archives material, kept in the Historical Archive and Museum of the University of Ljubljana (ZAMU) and the Archives of the Faculty of Arts and Literature, the author outlines the academic and life path of Anatol I. von Spakovsky, philosopher, sociologist, psychologist, culturologist, poet and bohemian, paying special attention to the interwar period of his life and work in the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and the later Kingdom of Yugoslavia. A bourgeois officer of the Russian army, he fled from the Red Army in 1920 to the Kingdom of SCS.
