Izkustveni svet: topografija interakcijskega prostora v turistični Šrilanki
Keywords:
Sri Lanka’s social space, ethnographic fieldwork, anthropological theory of turismSynopsis
The topic of this book are different levels of interaction in Sri Lanka’s social space. The empirical foundation of this complex phenomenon is an ethnographic presentation of Sri Lankan’s tourist space, a result of nine-month ethnographic fieldwork, which took place during three visits of Sri Lanka between 2003 and 2006.
The monograph includes three basic anthropological approaches: anthropological theory of tourism and tourist representations, anthropology of space and place and the theory of ethnographic fieldwork. However, these approaches are closely interconnected in the text, and together form a theoretic framework for “topography of interactional space” in the context of tourism and a general theory of ethnographic writing.
