Occupation Borders in Slovenia 1941–1945
Keywords:
occupation borders, Slovenia, 1941–1945Synopsis
The three-year basic research project "Make this country German ... Italian ... Hungarian ... Croatian! The role of occupation borders in national politics and the life of the Slovenian population" began in 2017 and ended in 2020. It aimed at examining the impact of the borders with which four occupiers quartered Slovenia during the Second World War planning to wipe out its population. The project was distinguished by its multidisciplinary approach, as a large group of geographers were part of the team. An important element was the analysis of cartographic material and, above all, the fieldwork, which partly involved cartographic resources.
