Meme
Synopsis
The chapter discusses the use of memes as a projective technique in the workplace and explores their applicability for organizational communication as well as for analysing organizational climate and culture. Memes enable employees to express themselves in a relaxed, informal manner, providing deeper insight into their thoughts, feelings, and relationships within the organization. This method is particularly useful for examining employees’ attitudes toward management, identifying hidden conflicts, and improving communication and collaboration. Organizational psychologists play a key role in introducing and implementing the method, ensuring the proper analysis of collected data and guiding the process toward actions that enhance organizational culture.
The chapter also includes concrete examples of the method’s application, a description of the process, and an analysis of its advantages and limitations. It highlights the importance of proper preparation and professional expertise for successful implementation, as incorrect use may lead to misinterpretations or ineffective results. While the method has significant potential, it is not suitable for all environments, requiring an adapted approach based on the specific characteristics of professions and work settings.
