Synopsis

The present monograph presents the authors' research over the past decade in the field of positive psychology, which has been established as a scientific discipline since 2000. To set the theoretical framework, the first chapter presents studies on lay conceptualizations of happiness and theoretical models of subjective well-being. The focus on the scientific adequacy of measurement instruments in positive psychology has sparked interest in the construct of subjective well-being in other areas of psychology as well.
