Financial literacy for a safe old age

Authors

Synopsis

Financial literacy enables older adults to manage a range of practical life challenges well: making appropriate financial decisions that are critical to planning for retirement, managing health expenses, transferring wealth to the next generation, and maintaining quality of life in one’s later years. We will present the development and usefulness of a new publicly verified educational programme that strengthens financial literacy among the elderly, and will also outline issues related to the training of adult educators when implementing this programme in practice. The programme is intended for seniors over 55 who want to acquire or update knowledge in the field of financial literacy in order to more easily manage the financial landscape, plan their finances and ensure a secure old age for themselves and their loved ones.
