Kvantitativna strojna analiza razporeditve čustev na primeru Visoške kronike
Synopsis
This article presents some options for a quantitative automatic analysis of the distribution of emotions using Ivan Tavčar’s historical novel Visoška kronika (The Visoko Chronicle) as an example. The novel’s text is divided into paragraphs, and the SloEmoLex 1.0 Lexicon of Word– Emotion Associations is used to assign a numerical distribution of eight emotions to each paragraph: anger, fear, sadness, disgust, surprise, anticipation, trust, or joy. The results are visualized and briefly interpreted in terms of the novel’s content. In addition, several potential benefits of this automatic approach are presented, along with several possibilities for future work related to the automatic analysis of emotions in Slovenian literature.
