Literature about the First World War is primarily a testimony of human crimes against life, morality, and the achievements of human civilization. However, it inevitably contains love stories and relationships between men and women. There is a certain set of standard themes and situations, also inherent in Slovenian literature on this topic. At the same time, one also finds works that go beyond the usual context of a story about war and love, offering a deeper and more complex view of the human soul.
