Toxic Eve Mahkovic med literaturo in gledališčem
Synopsis
This article explores the autofictional work Toxic by Eva Mahkovic, which deviates from contemporary Slovenian literary production primarily in its mode of creation and transfer into another medium (theater). The »selfautopsy« of emotions by the firstperson unreliable narrator, Eva Mahkovic, unfolds against the backdrop of pop culture, which Toxic trivializes. The emotions that appear in the narrative text belong to toxic emotions (anger, envy, jealousy, and shame), whereas in the stage performance, love, sadness, and happiness come to the fore.
