Negativna pripovedna čustva v romanih Materinska knjižica Katje Gorečan in Pričakovanja Anje Mugerli

This article presents the narrative emotions experienced by the main characters in two selected novels—Materinska knjižica (The Maternity Booklet, 2022) and Pričakovanja (Expectations, 2023)—highlighting their distress at a miscarriage in the former and the experience of a failed in vitro fertilization in the latter. The image of motherhood as it appears in the novels is intertwined with the most contemporary social reality, with the wider social community, or with social expectations about women as mothers.
