Synopsis

Velut pisciculi duo deals with Rufinus of Aquileia, a prominent Christian author who lived in the tumultuous years of the 4th and 5th centuries AD. Today he is mostly remembered as Jerome’s youthful friend-turned-enemy, but he was also a very prolific author of Latin translations of a number of important Greek ecclesiastical treatises. The main focus of this work is Rufinus’ Church History in two books, which he appended to his translation of Eusebius of Caesarea’s homonymous work.
