Synopsis

The case study presents intergenerational connections through the exchange of knowledge and skills. The FACE project was selected as an example, wherein, without financial compensation, intergenerational learning and connections are innovatively promoted within the local environment of a neighbourhood in Ljubljana. The FACE project employs online intergenerational connections to facilitate knowledge exchange and promotes mutual learning, where both younger and older generations guide the learning process and create a space for transformative learning through dialogue. According to the participants, all the parties involved benefited from intergenerational collaboration, which increased the feeling of satisfaction, reduced stereotypes of older people as passive, and increased empathy.
