Oblike sramu v sodobni slovenski pripovedi
Synopsis
This article draws on some observations about changes in Slovenian literature. It is based on the theory of metamodernism, which stimulated the emergence of new aesthetic currents (new sincerity and the aesthetics of quirky and awkwardness) in the twentyfirst century in capitalist societies. From an emotional perspective, the common traits of these currents concern the merger, transcendence, and oscillation between irony and sincerity, between melancholy and hope, and between shame and shamelessness. The article uses selected works by Slovenian writers as examples to present forms of sincerity, awkwardness, and shame.
