Jazykové ztvárnění emocí v románu Alamut a v jeho dvou překladech do češtiny

The allegorical novel Alamut (1938) by Vladimir Bartol explores questions of human will and power. This important work of Slovenian literature has been translated into several languages, including two Czech versions. This article presents a qualitative linguistic analysis of various emotions as described in the novel’s Czech translations. It focuses on the types of emotions expressed by female and male characters, which emotions prevail, and the linguistic means Bartol employs to portray emotions. The concluding comparative analysis shows how the older and modern Czech translations differ, especially in their depiction of emotions.
