Translator and interpreter training: From the archives of the Association of Scientific and Technical Translators of Slovenia

The article provides an overview education and training throughout the 65 years of the Association of Scientific and Technical Translators of Slovenia (Društvo znanstvenih in tehniških prevajalcev Slovenije – DZTPS). The first section focuses on written forms of education with the Association’s journal, Mostovi, which has diligently documented over five decades of development and trends in translation and inter­preting. This is followed by a review of all the various forms of training that are available, from the initial language clubs to today’s webinars. The third section highlights some topics for training as they arose over time. The conclusion provides valuable insights into the cyclical nature of translators’ needs and the conti­nuous nature of the organizational challenges they face.
