In today’s digitalized, globalized society, the influence of English as the language of science, politics, and popular culture is reflected in the adoption of its elements at all linguistic levels, most obviously in the use of loanwords and calques. This article deals with examples of English influence on modern media language (RTV Slovenija) in translated and original Slovenian texts, and the role of a copyeditor in this regard.
