Skrivnosti nasedlega slovarskega projekta

Anton Breznik designed his own morphoaccentual typology for his 1935/1950 Slovensko-srbohrvatski slovar (Slovenian–Serbo-Croatian Dictionary). For unknown reasons, the project came to a standstill with only the first volume (A–O) of the work published anonymously, without providing any pronunciation instructions or coded inflectional paradigms, and so no comprehensive overview of this system is available. Breznik’s work, which was excellent in many aspects, has remained overlooked in Slovenian studies and has had no impact on the development of the tonemic norm in standard Slovenian.
