Police in predali: Nekaj pomislekov o socialni zvrstnosti

The Slovenian model of language varieties does not reflect the actual linguistic situation, but rather guides it and indirectly prescribes which of the varieties is appropriate for different situations, at least suggesting that the varieties are relatively clearly delimited from each other. The need to update the concept of language varieties is evident in both teaching and research, but it seems that a general definition of language varieties that is suitable for both is not possible.
