Synopsis

This article focuses on a quantitative phonetic analysis of spoken Slovenian by using the forced alignment method to segment recordings into words, syllables, and phonemes. A selection of recordings from the Gos 2.1 Corpus of Spoken Slovenian was first analyzed to determine the quality of the forced alignment. This was followed by a statistical analysis of automatic measures of duration for the vowels a and i.
